I had a busy weekend. I’m still recovering, actually, cause I just woke up from a nice cat nap on the couch.
The weekend definitely had a rough start, though. After a stressful crazy Friday workday, a delicious gluten-binge on Tiff’s Treats, and a coffee at a new cafe, I somehow ended up back home starting a marathon of The Hills. Don’t judge me. I blame my favorite pen pal and Netflix.
Saturday started off right with a trip to the Farmers Market for some essentials: GF bread from my friend Lou, bacon from the fabulous local butcher Dai Due, and this time around I bought some beautiful mushrooms from a farm called Kitchen Pride. After dropping my goods off at home, I headed to work. Bosslady, Karen Morgan, did a fabulous demo at Williams-Sonoma where we made GF Cream Puffs for shoppers to try. The event was a huge success and we can’t wait to work with Williams-Sonoma more in the future. Side note: If you are ever at Williams-Sonoma, you have to try the Chardonnay Wine Jelly they have. We melted some down and added it to Chantilly Cream and ohmygoodnesgracious I could have eaten all three cups!
After we packed up, I went home for a costume change and a bacon sandwich before heading to another job with a local catering company. I love catering events because it’s so fun to see how things are decorated and watch people enjoying themselves.
Sunday was by far the best. With church, a fried egg & bacon sandwich, a nap or two, chocolate cake, and a BBQ with friends… what’s not to love? Mama lives in Scotland, so I didn’t get to spend Mother’s day with her, but I gave her a call and updated her on life and thanked her for being such a wonderful mom. (Love you mom!)
I hope you had an equally wonderful weekend!
Abigail
